In January 1988 the Council of the Centre for the Advancement of Interprofessional Education in Primary Health Care (CAIPE) commissioned a study, to be undertaken by the Institute of Community Studies (ICS).
Its purpose was to establish the extent and nature of recent initiatives in Interprofessional Education involving primary health care professionals in mainland UK. The report describes the research carried out by ICS: its scope; the method used and results. In analysing the statistical findings of the survey, it puts forward a number of conclusions regarding current trends within this field of education.
