Inter-professional Education learning is widely regarded as a means of encouraging a client-centred approach to patient care, nurturing greater collaboration between, and mutual understanding among, students in different health and social care disciplines. The ‘Survey of Pre-registration Inter-professional Education in the United Kingdom 2010-2012’ was commissioned by the Higher Education Academy in 2010 and seeks to provide an up-to-date picture of inter-professional education (IPE), representing the responses of 52 educational institutions relating to 63 IPE courses or modules. This survey will be published later in 2013 by the Higher Education Academy as part of our review of IPE in the UK since 1997. Issues arising from this survey will be discussed with those from other research strands in the final report.
