Invitation to participate in research on IPE Team Leadership

Dear CAIPE Member.

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to invite you to take part in a doctoral research study exploring the knowledge, skills, behaviours, values, and organisational supports required for effective Interprofessional Education (IPE) Team Leadership within higher education. The study seeks the perspectives of IPE Team Leads across the United Kingdom and Ireland with the aim of informing recommendations to strengthen and support IPE leadership roles.

This research is being conducted by Caitlin Lee as part of a Doctorate in Physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University under my supervision alongside Dr Shiv Shanmugam.

Participation would involve:

  • Completing a short demographic questionnaire (approximately 1–3 minutes).
  • Attending a single online modified Nominal Group Technique session (approximately 2.5 hours).
  • Completing a brief asynchronous ranking activity following the session.

The online NGT session will take place via Microsoft Teams on 4 March 2026, 1:00pm (GMT). With your consent, the session will be recorded to support accurate transcription. All data will be anonymised during analysis and reporting, and no identifying information will appear in any outputs.

Your contribution would help develop a clearer, practice informed understanding of the IPE Team Lead role and the conditions required to support sustainable and effective IPE leadership across institutions.
