CAIPE is inviting expressions of interest for new Trustees to help guide our strategic direction and advance interprofessional education and collaborative practice. Applications close on Sunday 4 October 2026.

Effective teamwork and communication are essential to safe, compassionate health and social care. Reviews led by Donna Ockenden and Baroness Amos have highlighted the consequences when these break down, reinforcing the need to prepare professionals to work well together.
The Centre for the Advancement of Interprofessional Education (CAIPE) works nationally and internationally to strengthen the evidence base for interprofessional education and collaborative practice, and to influence policy that improves health and care outcomes.
In November 2025, we launched the CAIPE Quality Standards for Pre-Registration Interprofessional Education at the UK House of Lords. The standards provide an evidence-based framework to support regulators and institutions in developing and evaluating interprofessional education.
We are now seeking additional Trustees to build on this work and help shape CAIPE’s next steps.
Who we would like to hear from
We welcome interest from clinicians, academics, leaders and others with an understanding of the UK health and social care context and the potential of interprofessional education and collaborative practice to improve outcomes.
We are particularly keen to hear from people with skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Policy and regulation: influencing professional and statutory regulation, policy and strategy in UK health and social care.
- Board governance: including financial and risk management.
- Funding applications: including invitations to tender and research grants.
- Communications: digital communication, marketing and public relations.
Expressions of interest are welcome from all health and social care professions, particularly medicine, social work, midwifery and pharmacy.
We are committed to increasing the diversity of our Board so that it better reflects our communities. We welcome different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives to enrich discussion and inform our work.
